If you were to stop by the Farm & Forest School, and if you observed the children outside in the field, it might appear, at first glance, like there is no routine. That would be an inaccurate assumption. We strongly believe in the benefits that routine provides for kids, benefits which include the following:
- Creating a sense of security
- Teaching organization
- Preventing power struggles
- Fostering independence
- Building confidence
- Teaching structure
- Establishing good habits
- Building efficiency
We love to straddle the fine line between structured routine and unstructured exploration, and we believe it is that act of straddling which helps our preschool to be so successful in preparing children for the years to come.
