Seeing Life Up Close and Personal

Have you ever seen human skin under a microscope?

How about a raindrop?

How about a red ant?

Absolutely amazing, right? And your children will think so as well. If you want to light their inquisitive fire, a microscope will be a veritable torch.

For twenty years this writer taught history and science in middle school and high school, and no lesson prepared by me could capture the attention of my students like a trip to the lab with some “samples” to study in magnification.

I know, we mentioned this in an earlier blog post, but it is worth repeating.  Outstanding gift/learning tool.

Christmas is coming; what better present for a child who loves to learn?

*** A parent recently asked who the man was walking a dog, on a leash, on the farm grounds.  Fair question . . . his name is Bill, the dog is Maggie, and Bill is the caretaker for evenings and weekends at the Farm.  Twenty years of classroom teaching experience, in science and history, so even the guy who takes care of the animals knows a thing or two about education.
