It’s Winter, the Time When Thoughts Turn to Gardening . . . Hey, We Can Dream, Right?
January 2, 2025Make a Mini Greenhouse with Your Kids for Fun Nature Project
January 10, 2025We know, we know, we’ve been on a crusade of sorts about this gardening thing with your children, but we really do think it’s a fun activity and we really do think it is a worthwhile learning activity, one which will not cost much money and will deliver multiple rewards.
Here are some basic steps to take:
- Choose kid-friendly seeds: Opt for smaller seeds that are easier for young fingers to handle.
- Teach potting and spacing techniques: Help children space seeds evenly when planting.
- Label your plants: Involve children in labeling and observing plant growth.
- Select fast-growing seeds: Choose seeds that grow quickly and are perfect for kids’ gardens.
Happy Gardening to you all. For in-ground planting, wait until the last frost, traditionally around April 15th. If you have a greenhouse, there is no better time than now.
