The Benefits of Preschool

At the risk of sounding self-serving, we at Sequoia’s Treehouse really do believe preschool is vital for the development of a child.  However, what we just wrote is simply an opinion without some solid reasons to support that statement.  So, here are the reasons we believe preschool is so very important:

• Prepares a child for kindergarten
• Teaches a child to follow directions.
• Establishes social and emotional development.
• Provides opportunities to play with others.
• Can reduce the need for special education services.
• Contributes to education equality.
• Develops self-regulation skills
• Boosts pre-literacy skills
• Boosts math skills
• Nurtures creativity and curiosity
• Teaches children to care for themselves.
• Teaches children to care for each other.
• Develops motor skills
• Develops emotional skills

A pretty impressive list, for sure, but still just a list without some corroborating support, and that support comes from practically every education study and governing board in the world.
