November 14, 2024It’s hard to believe, at least for us at Sequioa’s Treehouse, that Thanksgiving is two weeks away. It seems like summer just ended, and all of a sudden there are Christmas decorations being sold in stores. It also seems like the marketers skip right over Thanksgiving as quickly as possible so their Christmas ads can dominate the media.
Which leads us to a most important question, we believe, one which would be a lovely learning experience in your home with your children.
What does Thanksgiving mean to you?
For this writer, our family tradition was for each member of the family, just prior to the eating of the meal, to state what they were thankful for. I remember that tradition clearly from my early years, say 5-10, and still today it is practiced. Gratitude, then food, that was the tradition then and still is today.
How about you? Do you do something similar at your dinner table? What Thanksgiving traditions do you follow?
