We know, we know, we’ve been on a crusade of sorts about this gardening thing with your children, but we really do think it’s a fun activity and we really do think it is a worthwhile learning activity, one which will not cost much money and will deliver multiple rewards.

Here are some basic steps to take:

  1. Choose kid-friendly seeds: Opt for smaller seeds that are easier for young fingers to handle.
  2. Teach potting and spacing techniques: Help children space seeds evenly when planting.
  3. Label your plants: Involve children in labeling and observing plant growth.
  4. Select fast-growing seeds: Choose seeds that grow quickly and are perfect for kids’ gardens.

Happy Gardening to you all.  For in-ground planting, wait until the last frost, traditionally around April 15th.  If you have a greenhouse, there is no better time than now.
