Sequoia’s Treehouse/Farm School and Summer Camp/School-Age COVID-19 Safety Precautions and Guidelines
We want to provide a safe environment for Sequoia’s Treehouse staff and students during COVID-19, so we will follow recommended guidelines. As a member of the Sequoia’s Treehouse Community, you are agreeing to these guidelines. These guidelines are for all Sequoia’s Treehouse Programs.
- It is of the utmost importance that if your child is showing any symptoms associated with COVID-19 that you keep them home.
- We are taking children’s and staff’s temperatures in the morning at drop-off and screening for symptoms. We are asking parents to take their children’s temperatures at home in the morning before school as well.
- Additional health checks will be given during the program if children/staff are experiencing fever or any symptoms related to COVID-19. If staff or children are running a fever of 100° F [37.8° C] or greater, have a cough, and/or difficulty breathing, or other COVID-19 symptoms, they will be sent home and told to contact their healthcare provider. We will follow the healthcare provider’s recommendations for everyone’s case and a negative COVID-19 test will be required to return. This information is documented daily. If your child has allergies or a non-COVID-19 related cough please bring a doctor’s note letting us know.
- At the Childcare Center, we are asking parents to please wear masks when entering the building at drop-off and pick-up. Staff will be wearing masks at work throughout the day. Children attending childcare and preschool are not required to wear masks at the Childcare Center.
- At the Farm (School and Summer Camp), Staff and Parents/Guardians will wear masks during drop-off and pick-up. Staff are not required to wear masks when outside with the children. Children are not required to wear masks as this is a fully immersed outdoor program. Children and Staff at the Farm will wear masks if inside a building or while riding the minibus to and from a field trip.
- At the School-Age full-day Program at the Center, besides wearing masks when entering the building at drop-off and pick-up, children and staff will wear masks while indoors or while riding the minibus to and from a field trip. When outdoors in the wetlands, children and staff are not required to wear masks.
- Social distancing requirements (described as keeping at least 6 feet away from others), will be encouraged in all Programs.
- We are doing extra sanitation throughout the day of classrooms, surfaces, and door handles as well as extra hand washing for kids and staff. This was already being done before COVID-19.
- We are doing a full sanitation of the buildings every night and having professional cleaners do a full cleaning every weekend at the Childcare Center. This was already being done before COVID-19.
- Carpets are deep cleaned at the Childcare Center once per month by professional carpet cleaners. This was already being done before COVID-19.
- Hand sanitizer is available by the office at the sign-in/out station.
- In the event a staff member or child attending Sequoia’s Treehouse has been exposed to a person diagnosed with COVID-19 outside of Sequoia’s Treehouse Programs, the exposed staff member or family of the exposed child will be asked to contact their healthcare provider, stay home for 14 days, and complete a COVID-19 test at the end of the 14 days before returning.
- In the event there is a confirmed COVID-19 case among staff or children, Sequoia’s Treehouse will contact the state and local health department and our Licensor immediately. Sequoia’s Treehouse will inform employees and parents about the confirmed case, keeping confidentiality. All people who closely interacted with the infected person will be asked to contact their healthcare provider, stay home for 14 days, and complete a COVID-19 test at the end of the 14 days before returning. Sequoia’s Treehouse will follow all the recommendations given by the state and local health department and our Licensor. Based on their recommendations, Sequoia’s Treehouse may close temporarily anywhere from 3-14 days. Additional cleaning and disinfecting of the facility will be performed.
