A Wish To Learn

Those words, by the Father of minimalism in this country, are food for a preschool teacher’s soul, and especially a nature-based education teacher. The seed, in this case, is the curriculum, the teacher themselves, and the enthusiasm the teacher brings to that curriculum. If all elements are there, which we believe to be the case at Sequoia’s Treehouse, then wonders will, indeed, occur in the form of children (the plants) who are excited about learning . . .
And excitement about learning leads to an increase in learning and understanding.
You will never hear us say that an outdoor, nature-based school should completely eliminate classroom education, but you will hear us say that a nature-based education is a proven winner, and if utilized in conjunction with classroom learning, it can produce incredible results.
