It’s a fascinating quote, is it not, when really looking at education over the years? So much advancement in knowledge has been made, not only from century to century, but also just from one generation to another.
Countless studies in the 20th and 21st Centuries have shown that the old ways of learning, although somewhat effective, are dwarfed by new ways of presenting information. Today we realize that an active body corelates to an active mind, and an active, engaged mind is a mind ripe for learning.
We will never claim that the old template of education is antiquated and no longer effective. That is simply not true; it has its place and time, and it can yield great learning. However, when used in conjunction with alternative approaches, like nature-based learning, the sky is the limit.
