The Stockholm Environment Institute recently concluded a study in which it stated that humanity needs to revamp its relationship with the environment, and one way they recommended that be done was by having a global campaign for nature-based education.
It goes on to say that children need to have a sense of ownership with nature, that nature is not just a place to play in but also an integral part of what they call home. Once a child senses that they have this “ownership,” they will naturally take an active part in sustaining that home, nurturing that home, and becoming a steward of that home.
